SRD R370: The yearly dates above do not apply to SRD payments. Check your own payment details on SASSA’s official status form. Approved with no payment date? That does not tell you when the money will come.
Want more detail? See the SASSA payment-date guide. For SRD on its own, see SRD R370 payment dates.
Before you travel to collect money, check the details tied to your own grant and payment method. A calendar only announces a payment cycle. It cannot prove that one person’s application was approved. The calendar cannot show that an open review is done, or that money has reached an account.
Reading your monthly SRD payment record
The SRD grant is still R370 for each approved month. Funding has been announced through 31 March 2027. That does not mean every application gets approved every month.
Read the month, the application outcome and the payment details together. Are you following several unpaid months? Make a private list with one line for each month. Note the current result and whether a payment date shows up. That helps you explain the real problem. It may be a decision that is not finished. Or it may be an approved payment that never reached you.
Do not use another person’s date for your own application. A shared screenshot can be real and still belong to a different person or month. Check your own record before you change details or raise an appeal.
What does your SASSA status mean
Read the exact result and the period it covers. The notes below help you pick a next step. They do not replace an instruction meant for your own application.
| Result or message | How to understand it and what to do |
|---|---|
| Pending | Verification for the month is incomplete. Check for an instruction or a later decision. |
| Approved | The application was accepted for that period. Read the payment information separately. |
| Declined | The application was unsuccessful for that month. Read the reason and appeal through the Department of Social Development if you disagree. |
| Bank details pending | Banking information or a payment preference needs attention. Use the official SRD service. |
| Application complete | The application was received. Look for the separate monthly outcome. |
| Cancelled | The application is recorded as cancelled. Check the official reinstatement guidance where appropriate. |
| No result or loading error | The lookup has not produced a usable answer. This does not establish a declined application. |
These notes follow SASSA’s status reference. That document still uses the old R350 name. A loading error is about the check itself. It is not an official monthly decision.
If your status is pending
Pending means the checks are not finished. SASSA says the checks can look at your banking details and at records held by other departments. An unfinished check does not prove that your application was accepted or refused. Source: SASSA’s verification explanation.
Note the month and any instruction on screen. Check again later for a new result. Does the application ask you to fix something? Use the official process for that fix. Running the same lookup again will not clear an open request for details.
If your application is declined
Start with the reason given for that month. Do you disagree? Use the Department of Social Development’s SRD appeals portal. Follow the steps and the deadline shown there. Keep the proof that you submitted it.
An appeal must deal with the decision that was really made. Do not swap in different personal details. A new application will not challenge an earlier declined month. Our appeal-process guide explains the difference. You submit the appeal through the government service in charge.
Approved but no payment date
Approval and payment dates are two different things. Is your result approved but with no payday? Then the status alone cannot tell you when the money will arrive. Keep checking that month’s official record. Follow any banking or verification instruction shown there.
SASSA’s 2026 grant booklet also tells approved but unpaid applicants to finish the facial-verification step. Start on the official SRD portal. Follow the instructions that match your record. Cannot reach the verification step? Ask SASSA for help. Finishing a check is not a promise of any payday.
Do not swap in a friend’s payday, a social-media screenshot or the general grant calendar. Your own result is the one that counts. When you ask SASSA for help, name the month. Say exactly what is missing. It may be the decision, the payment date or the deposit itself. That makes your enquiry sharper than just saying the grant is late.
A date appears but the money has not arrived
Check the transaction history or collection steps for your payment method. Write down the date shown and any reference you have. Do this before you phone SASSA. Keep the enquiry tight. Name the month. Say that a payment date is there but the money has not reached you.
Do not keep changing your banking or contact details to force a payment. Find out what the record says first. SASSA’s application notice says that bank details in the wrong name block verification. It also asks applicants to answer verification requests.
Asking about another grant? Keep those records apart. An SRD result cannot confirm an Older Persons, Disability or Child Support payment.
Having trouble checking your SRD status
Check the applicant details and the correct month
Use the ID number and cellphone number you gave in the application. Look for a mistyped digit before you send it again. Did you change your SIM? Then keep the old number on the application apart from the one you use now. An error about what you typed is not the same as a declined month.
SASSA’s main SRD portal has one route for South African ID holders. It has another for asylum seekers or special permit holders. Choose the route that matches your papers. Do not type a permit reference into a field meant for a 13-digit South African ID.
Want more detail on the routes? Read our SRD status-check guide. The homepage checker stays at the top of this page.
You no longer have your registered cellphone number
Start at the official SRD portal. Choose the route for updating your mobile number. SASSA’s 2026 grant booklet says a number change needs facial verification. Follow the current instructions, not an old screenshot of a form.
Cannot finish the recovery process? Ask SASSA for help. Do not use another person’s application details to get past a verification step. Our guide to a wrong or lost SRD cellphone number shows what to check before you ask for help.
The checker shows no result or keeps loading
Check your entries once. Then try the official status form. A page that times out tells you nothing about approval or decline. Do not lodge an appeal until you have the real decision.
Does the error keep coming back? Note which website you used, when it happened and what the message said. You can describe that problem without posting your full ID number or cellphone number in public. On a shared phone or computer, close the page when you are done.
The result is different on two websites
Compare the applicant details and the month before you call the results a clash. Then use SASSA’s official service to find the current record. A saved screenshot, an older result and a fresh response may each come from a different point in time.
Do not change your banking or lodge an appeal just because an unofficial result differs. Save that message privately. Then ask SASSA about the exact month if the gap stays open.
Your banking details need attention
Use the banking-details route on the official SRD website. The account must be in the applicant’s own name for payment verification. Check the account details with care. Picking the name of a bank is not the same as giving every detail needed.
SASSA has named incomplete banking details as one cause of delays after approval. Its verification explanation and application notice cover these problems.
Want a walkthrough? See our SRD banking-details guide. Make changes through the official service. Keep a private note of the date you submitted. Do not enter a friend or relative’s account to dodge a verification problem.
You need help with identity verification
Follow the verification request linked to your official application. Some people have no smartphone, laptop or data for biometric verification. SASSA has told them to visit a local office for help. Source: SASSA’s January 2026 notice.
Read our biometric-verification guide for background. Need help in person? Write down the exact message first. Ask what you must bring. Finishing verification is not a guarantee of approval or a fast payment.
Prepare a clear enquiry
Write down the grant name, the month, the exact result and what you have already done. Have you contacted SASSA before? Keep the enquiry reference and the reply with those notes. A follow-up can then start from the open issue. You will not have to repeat the whole story.
Share personal details only through a verified support process, and only where they are needed. In a public comment, words work better than a full screenshot. Something like “September is approved but has no payment date” is enough.
SASSA status check questions
Does approved mean the money is already in my account
No. Approval is about the decision on your application for the period shown. Read any payment details shown on their own. Then check your own account or collection channel. An application result does not show your private bank balance.
Why am I approved with no payment date
The decision and the payment details can appear at different times. Follow any verification or banking instruction in your official record. Check back for an update. Do not start a fresh application just because the payday is blank. Use the right official process for the issue shown.
Can I use someone else’s payment date
No. Another person’s result does not confirm yours. Check the month and the payment details tied to your own application. Do this even when a friend or family member gets the same type of grant.
Should I appeal a loading error
No. A loading error is not a rejection. First get a usable result from the official status service. An appeal fits when there is a decision you disagree with. It does not fit when a page fails to load.
Can I check my SASSA balance here
The checker on this page is for SRD application details. It does not show the balance in a bank account. Use your bank’s own channel to see whether money arrived and what you have left.
How often should I check my SRD status
Check for an update while a month is pending. Look again when payment details are missing, or when an official message asks you to act. Keep track of the exact month you are following. Many checks in a short time will not replace a correction or verification you were asked for.
Is the SASSA R350 status check the same thing
R350 is the old amount for the special SRD grant. R370 is the amount now. Older pages may still use the old name. Check the date and source before you trust their amounts or steps.
Where can I check appeal instructions
Use the official Department of Social Development SRD appeals service. It gives the steps and the current deadlines. The process covers the monthly decision you are challenging. Keep the proof of any appeal you submit.
Can I use this SRD checker for every SASSA grant
Use the channel that fits the grant you get. The checker on this page is for SRD. A Child Support, Older Persons or other grant needs the right SASSA service or office. An SRD result cannot show the outcome of those applications.
Is MySRD SASSA
No. MySRD is an independent information website. SASSA and the government bodies in charge make all application, appeal and payment decisions. Read our disclaimer. Use the linked official services for any account action.
SRD appeals and reapplication
SASSA’s official SRD website says you must lodge an appeal for each month you want to challenge. Are several months declined? Then keep a record of the decision and the submission for each one. An appeal for one month does not cover the others.
An appeal challenges a decision that went against you. Reapplying, fixing your contact details and bringing back a cancelled application all do different jobs. Choose the route that matches your result. Follow SASSA’s current instructions. A new application is not a way to challenge a declined month.
MySRD explains the process. We cannot decide an appeal, change a decline reason or arrange an early payment.

Payment guidance for other SASSA grants
Choose the guide for the grant you get. These summaries set out the main differences. Your own SASSA record and the official grant rules decide where your application stands.
Older Persons Grant
The Older Persons Grant helps people aged 60 or older who qualify. You must also meet the residence or status rules and the financial rules. Use the Older Persons column in the calendar above. A new applicant should get the application outcome first. Do not rely on the payment cycle of someone who already gets the grant.
Older Persons Grant payment dates · Official requirements
Disability Grant
The Disability Grant is for adults aged 18 to 59 who qualify. Their disability must stop them working for the qualifying period. Temporary and permanent awards run for different lengths of time. The word “permanent” does not mean a payment for life. Keep any review or expiry date apart from the monthly calendar.
Disability Grant guide · Official requirements
Child Support Grant
The Child Support Grant helps a primary caregiver support a child under 18. A parent, grandparent or other caregiver may apply if they meet SASSA’s rules. Use the Children’s Grants column for the published schedule. Check your own record for a payment problem of your own.
Child Grant payment dates · Official requirements
Foster Child Grant
The Foster Child Grant covers a child placed in a caregiver’s care by a court order. That is different from an informal family care arrangement. Keep the court order and any review letters to hand when you make an enquiry. The yearly calendar gives this grant no column of its own.
Foster Care Grant guide · Official requirements
Care Dependency Grant
The Care Dependency Grant helps caregivers of children under 18 with severe disabilities. The child must need full-time special care. A medical assessment is part of the requirements. This is not the same as the adult Disability Grant. Confirm your payment details with SASSA, because the calendar does not name Care Dependency on its own.

War Veterans Grant
The War Veterans Grant covers Second World War or Korean War veterans who qualify. They must be 60 or older, or living with a disability. Other requirements apply too. This is not a general grant for all former soldiers. Confirm your payday with SASSA, because the calendar does not name this grant on its own.

Grant-in-Aid
Grant-in-Aid is extra support for Older Persons, Disability or War Veterans beneficiaries who qualify. They must need another person’s full-time care. It is paid with the main grant, so it has no payday of its own. Reporting a missing top-up? Say whether the main grant came through.

Protect your information when checking a grant
Use the official links on this page for account actions. Read the full website address before you enter personal details. A familiar logo proves nothing. Nor does the word “SASSA” in a page title prove that the agency runs a website.
Keep your card PIN, bank password and one-time codes private. Enter a verification code only into an official process you started yourself. Never send those details to someone who promises to approve a grant. The same goes for anyone who offers to move your payment forward.
Asking for help in a public group? Strip ID numbers, cellphone numbers, application references and banking details out of your screenshots. Describe the issue in words where you can. For example, say that October is approved without a payday. Do not post the whole application record.
SASSA says its services are free. It warns you not to pay strangers for grant services. Is someone demanding an approval or release fee? Treat that with care and check it with the agency itself.
