Independent editorial site
MySRD is an independent website. This site covers SASSA grants, SRD R370, and other South African social security topics. We are not the South African Social Security Agency or the Department of Social Development. MySRD has no link to any South African government body. We do not process grant applications or review appeals. This site does not verify identities or pay out grants.
No professional advice
This site explains how SASSA services and social grants work in South Africa. The pages here are general information only. They are not legal advice or financial advice. Nothing here replaces advice from SASSA, a paralegal, a legal aid clinic or a qualified professional. Check what you read here against the official sources listed below. For a difficult matter, get qualified advice before you act.
Accuracy and updates
We check grant amounts, contact numbers, URLs and payment dates before we publish. Our sources are official SASSA and government pages. When the facts change, we update the article. But SASSA rules, amounts and payment dates can change without notice. Always confirm the current details on sassa.gov.za. You can also call 0800 60 10 11. Do this before you make a decision that depends on it.
Where SASSA and this site disagree, trust SASSA
Does a page here say something different from SASSA or the SRD R370 portal? Then the official source is correct and we are out of date. Please tell us so we can fix the article.
No account and no payments
This site has no login, no account and no way to take payments. We never charge you for anything. MySRD is not a loan service.
The SRD status checker on our home page does ask for two things. It needs your ID number and the cellphone number on your SRD application. SASSA needs both to find your record. Those details go to SASSA. We do not store them. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
We will never ask for your banking PIN or your password. Nor will we ask for your card number or a one-time PIN (OTP). Someone may claim to work for this site and ask for those. That person is a scammer.
External links
We link to official SASSA and government websites so you can check the facts. Those sites are not ours. We do not control what they show or whether they stay online. MySRD takes no paid links and no affiliate deals on SASSA content.
